A time of unity and commitment for the success of the global OneVoice27 project

The national Camp Meeting hosted by the Ceylon Mission was successfully held with great grace from August 18 to 22 at Lakpahana College in Mailapitiya. A total of about 700 members, including 570 officially registered attendees, stayed and participated throughout the 5-day camp. Notably, the Sabbath morning worship service saw a massive gathering of approximately 1,200 to 1,300 members, creating a passionate venue for unity.

What made this year's Camp Meeting even more special was that it went beyond a simple annual event and was organized as a ‘OneVoice27 Training Camp.’ To ensure the efficient progress of the 'OneVoice27' project—driven globally by the worldwide church—and to encourage active participation from the church members, all programs of this camp were heavily focused on this initiative. Attendees had the opportunity to learn practical ways to engage in actual ministry and received profound motivation.

Particularly for this gathering, Pastor Fredrick Paul, the OneVoice27 Coordinator of the South India Union, was invited as a special guest speaker. Throughout the camp, Pastor Paul delivered inspiring sermons and practical lectures, bringing great grace and spiritual challenges to the attendees.

Additionally, the departmental directors of the Ceylon Mission took the stage to detail the future direction of their respective ministries, explaining how they will integrate with the ‘OneVoice27’ project and encouraging the active participation of the congregation.

The highlight of the Camp Meeting was the ‘Commitment’ service held on the Sabbath. A solemn ceremony took place where representatives from all local churches and members came forward to light candles together. Through this candle-lighting ceremony, participants made a resolute pledge before God and the congregation to shine the light of the gospel throughout Sri Lanka and fully commit to the ‘OneVoice27’ ministry, marking a beautiful finale to the gathering.

Starting with this Camp Meeting at Lakpahana College, the Ceylon Mission anticipates that churches across Sri Lanka will unite with 'One Voice' to powerfully fulfill their given missional calling.
